Cops prepare for education cut protests across CA

Police agencies around the Bay Area and California say they are preparing for anything and everything during Thursday's statewide protests on education cuts.

Authorities say officers will be out in full force to prevent the protests from escalating into violence like they did during last week's demonstration in Berkeley.

Early last Friday, a crowd torched trash cans, smashed windows and clashed with police after a UC Berkeley protest party moved off campus and onto Telegraph Avenue.

On Thursday, "Day of Action" rallies and demonstrations are planned around the state to protest school budget cuts and student fee increases.
