Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is in Salinas today to promote a plan that would provide more help for homebuyers.

His new proposal would extend and expand a $10,000 tax credit that has previously been available only to California's first-time homebuyers who purchase new homes.

This new proposal is part of the governor's California Jobs Initiative -- a legislative package that the governor's office estimates will create or retain at least 100,000 jobs in the state.
