Thief steals money from Girl Scout selling cookies

TACOMA, WA

Beverly Reed, 16, was selling cookies with her mother when the thief ran up. He was captured on a surveillance video. The man grabbed $435; the hard-earned money from a day spent selling 100 boxes of cookies. Beverly was beside herself.

"I have been doing this for 10 years and that has never happened to me. The last weekend of cookies and someone steals from me. That is just very upsetting," said Reed.

There is some good news to report: People in Tacoma heard about the theft and donations started flowing in. Beverly made back her money. The Girl Scouts took in more than $1,000 in donations.
