Governor wants to put UC in charge of prison health

Gov. Schwarzenegger says he wants to put the University of California in charge of health care at state prisons.

Under the plan, university doctors would treat state prisoners using a video link-up.

It could save the state $12 billion over a decade.

Texas and Georgia have a similar arrangement between prisons and their universities, and they spend about a quarter of what California spends on each prisoner's health.
