Transit systems in New York and Washington are beefing up their security in the wake of the Moscow bombing.

In the Bay Area, a BART spokesperson says the transit agency was already on high alert even before the bombing.

BART officers are being reminded about their security training and how to 'recognize' suspicious people and potential threats.

Security is being increased on San Francisco's Muni system as well; canine units are being strategically deployed.
