SF City College temporarily shuts down Aeronautics Dept.

SAN FRANCISCO

Students say the department has failed to file required documents with the FAA, and is down to just two professors, only one of them full time.

And the student body president says he thinks the program is going to be shut down for good.

"If you're going to kill our program kill it we're all adults here. This isn't high school, no rainbows and lollipops. If you're going to kill our program, kill it," John Chilton said.

"The reality is because of budget not in a position to bring in a new cohort of students, but we have 100 percent commitment to students who are there," City College San Francisco Chancellor Don Q. Griffin said.

There are 65 students in the two-year aeronautics program.
