Teachers in Gilroy are being asked to beware of a mountain lion that has been spotted roaming parts of the city Monday morning.

Between 1 a.m. 3:30 a.m., the same big cat was spotted in three different locations, first at an apartment complex on the 500 block of Stoney Court, then wandering near homes at Mantelli Drive and Wren Avenue. Finally, around 3:30 a.m. the cat was spotted in a residential driveway on Tatum Avenue.

Police managed to use pepper balls to scare the big cat out of the residential area and into an open field, but still have not managed to capture it.
