A lot of theater goers in downtown San Francisco had to wait nearly two hours to get their cars out of a garage late Sunday night, after police shut it down to investigate a suspicious item.

It happened around 11 p.m. at the garage on Mission between Fourth and Fifth Street.

The bomb squad brought in a robot to remove the suspicious item from the fifth floor of the garage.

People coming out of two major movie theater complexes nearby could not get to their cars until the bomb squad completed its work. They were finally allowed into the garage around 12:45.
