1,500 homes evacuated in LA County due to fire

PALMDALE, CA

The fire is burning near Santa Clarita, right now 1,500 homes are threatened in the community of Leona Valley everyone's been evacuated. The 2,000 acre wildfire is burning ferociously out of control. It's being fueled by heavy brush and dry grass.

The fire is also threatening the state's power supply.

Cal ISO says this fire has knocked out two of its three major transmission lines for Southern California.

About 600 firefighters are on the lines for the night.

This is one of three fires that broke out Thursday afternoon along Highway 14, near Santa Clarita.
