3 people stabbed in two separate San Jose incidents

SAN JOSE

The attacks appear to have been gang-related, but it's too early to determine if they were connected, Officer Ronnie Lopez said.

At about 7:30 p.m., two teens were stabbed in a Taco Bell parking lot at the intersection of Payne Avenue and South Winchester Boulevard, Lopez said.

Officers responding to a report of a disturbance involving possible gang members discovered that a 19-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries had been taken by a friend to a local hospital, Lopez said.

A 17-year-old boy who was also stabbed remained at the scene to wait for police. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The two teens were apparently talking in the parking lot when they were approached by multiple suspects and assaulted, Lopez said.

Then at about 8:50 p.m., a 34-year-old San Jose man was stabbed at Kollmar Road and Story Drive as he was walking to a bus stop. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Lopez said the attacks appear to have been gang-related, but it's too early to confirm that.
