ESPN and Major League Baseball are trying to move the San Francisco Giants' season opener from Los Angeles to AT&T Park.

If approved, baseball fans will get to see the Giants start the season by unveiling their World Series championship banner at home and in front of a national audience.

Right now, the Giants are scheduled to play their first game of next season against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon, April 1.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports plans are in the works to move the game up to Thursday evening, March 31 at 5 p.m. in San Francisco. The teams would then travel to LA to complete the four game series.
