SJ city manager wants cop fired for excessive force

SAN JOSE, Calif.

That's according to our media partner the San Jose Mercury News.

It happened last year, when two officers trying to arrest a San Jose State student in his apartment were caught on cell phone video beating him.

It shows one of the cops repeatedly hitting the student, who didn't appear to be resisting.

San Jose's acting police chief recommended the officer be suspended without pay for a month.

Neither officer was criminally charged.
