Co-founder Kay Kerr of Save the Bay dead at 99

An environmental icon has passed away. Catherine "Kay" Kerr helped found the first environmental organization dedicated solely to protecting San Francisco Bay.

Kerr and two other wives of UC Berkeley faculty founded Save The Bay in 1961 to fight a plan by the city of Berkeley to fill in part of the bay.

There is now a documentary called "Saving The Bay" and Ron Blatman produced that documentary. He had many great things to say about Kerr.
