You can forget about going to AT&T Park for the Giants' season opener. The plan proposed by ESPN and supported by Major League Baseball to have the World Series champions' opener at home has been rejected.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Dodgers did not like the idea. So the Giants will still open at Dodger Stadium as originally scheduled. But the league is expected to announce Thursday that the game will be moved up to Thursday, March 31, instead of April 1, so ESPN can show the Giants as part of a season opening package.
