Man shot Monday evening expected to survive

RICHMOND, Calif.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was shot at about 6:20 p.m. while he was driving in a car with several other people in the 200 block of South Eighth Street, Lt. Shawn Pickett said.

The man was listed in critical condition when he was brought to a local hospital for treatment, Pickett said.

French said police now believe he will survive his injuries.

Police did not have a description of the shooter Tuesday morning, and no suspects had been identified, French said.
