An El Dorado County elementary school principal is trying to raise money for her school district by selling her shoes online. Michele Miller's vast and assorted collection includes 285 pairs of shoes. She's asking for a $1,000 a pair.

Her school district faces a $1.4 million deficit that would force it lay off teachers and staff, and close all of its libraries.

"There is not a material item on the planet that can supplant a child's education. I mean it's the greatest gift you can give a child. I'm very, very passionate about education and children," said Miller.

So far Miller has raised about $4,000 for her district. People nationwide have bought her shoes.
