The San Francisco Chronicle reports the demonstration project proposes running two additional trains 30 minutes apart with the last one departing at 1 a.m. Saturday morning. The extra trains would run on each line and serve all 44 stations.
To protect the amount of down time needed for maintenance, Saturday morning service would begin an hour later at 7 a.m.
If the BART board agrees, late night service could get a six month tryout beginning in September.
