A German tourist whose wife was shot to death in San Francisco last year is praising police for arresting seven suspects in the case this week.

Stefan Shroer told German television that he is not looking for vengeance, for his wife's murder, but he does want to see the killers convicted. His wife Mechthild was killed in the crossfire of a gang shooting near Union Square in August.

Shroer returned to San Francisco last week with his two sons and told ABC7 in an email Friday that quote, "It was clear to us that many people have not forgotten the death of my wife. I hope that all work to ensure that it is not easy for teenagers to get access to weapons."

Shroer has asked the district attorney not to seek the death penalty.
