ABC7's Cheryl Jennings joined Lorraine Taylor, founder of 1,000 Mothers to Prevent Violence for the group's second annual Peace Walk.
The organization encourages victims' families and the survivors of violence to find counseling and other positive ways to deal with their tragic losses.
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors also declared Saturday 1,000 Mourning Mothers Day.
