Livermore to hold celebration for Amgen Tour

Residents will be celebrating all things bicycle-related in downtown Livermore Tuesday night to kick off stage four of the Amgen tour.

The eight-day bike tour started in South Lake Tahoe on Sunday and is scheduled to end in Thousand Oaks on May 22.

Stage four of the tour is set to start in Livermore at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The athletes will bike 81 miles to San Jose, covering three grueling climbs along the way, according to the tour's website.

Downtown Livermore restaurants, shops, and artists are planning to kick off stage four tonight with a Bike Night celebration, event organizers said.

Bike-themed food, drinks and art will be featured in downtown shops and restaurants.

Tonight's Bike Night is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
