Fatal stabbing suspect in custody in SJ

SAN JOSE, Calif.

San Jose police responded to the 4200 block of Albany Drive after a report of a stabbing at 2:36 a.m. When officers arrived they found a man in the area and immediately took him into custody as a suspect without incident, San Jose police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said.

The suspect is a 48-year-old man.

Officers then entered the apartment and found a woman with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Dwyer said.

The apartment was otherwise empty. Police are looking into the motive behind the stabbing, Dwyer said.

More information about the apparent homicide will be released later this morning, Dwyer said.
