SJ City Council votes to extend military leave subsidy

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The San Jose Mercury News reports that a recent audit recommended a time cap on how long the city would subsidize a reservist's tour of duty.

The audit recommended a five year limit be placed on subsidized leave. But yesterday, the city council voted unanimously to extend the military leave program indefinitely without any limit on how long soldiers can be away from their city jobs and still receive full pay.
