Proceeds from the Third Annual San Mateo Firefighters' Chili Cook-Off will help support the fight against muscular dystrophy and give people a chance to taste a lot of chili from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in San Mateo.
For $10, attendees can taste a sample of all the chilis firefighters have cooked and then decide on their favorite to enjoy in a big bowl along with a beer, wine, soda or water.
This is a kid-friendly event and children under 12 can attend for free, organizers said.
The chili cook-Off will be held at Central Park between Fifth and Ninth avenues off of El Camino Real.
