Retrevo.com, the high-tech shopping and review site says men are more likely to use Facebook to check up on potential employers, while women are more likely to use the service to check up on family.
"Women are far more likely to check out what their extended families are doing online. I believe it is about 68 percent of women check out what their family is up to," said Jennifer Jacobsen with Retrevo.com. "So if you are a kid in college sharing what you're doing, your mom is probably keeping track of what you are doing, who your friends are and all that good stuff."
So set your privacy settings accordingly. Retrevo.com's survey shows more than 70 percent of Facebook users have changed their privacy settings, while 17 percent say they don't know how.
