Berkeley High hires new security guards

BERKELEY, Calif.

The district has hired two more security guards and four new campus monitors. The district has also spent $25,000 to train them.

The new hiring and training comes after several incidents at Berkeley High School in the spring, including incidents where students were arrested and expelled for bringing guns to school.

In one incident, a gun went off in the restroom of the school. Nobody was injured in that incident.
