Health insurance scheduled to rise though employers

You may be fortunate enough to have a health plan through your employer. It is a great benefit to be sure, but you're still going to pay more for it next year.

Insurance rates will go up next year, but the good news is not as much as they have in the past.

A nationwide survey finds employers expect health care premiums to increase 5.4 percent on average.

It's the smallest increase in 15 years -- last year it went up 9 percent. However, rates are still rising faster than salaries.

Many companies say they will offer lower-cost health plans with bigger deductibles. Others are making employees contribute more from their paychecks for health coverage.
