Gilroy police arrested two people on Saturday suspected of shoplifting beer from a Super Save Market, and threatening a store employee with a knife after they confronted the two suspects, police said. Police responded to reports of an armed robbery at 6:10 p.m. at 211 First St. They were told that a female suspect concealed beer in her coat to take it from the store. Police said that a store employee then followed the woman out of the store and demanded she return the beer. But a man got out of his car and threatened the store employee with a knife, and the two escaped together. A short time later police found the vehicle described by employees and pulled it over. Manuel Beltran and Dominique Espinoza, both 28-years-old, were in the car and police found Espinoza in possession of a knife. Police recovered the allegedly stolen beer and booked the two suspects into San Jose Main Jail.
