A promotional stunt that polluted the bay is going to cost the company behind it.

San Francisco's Water Quality Control Board is fining marketing firm Trash Talk $7,000 for releasing hundreds of red latex balloons last March that ended up in the bay.

The stunt helped launch a new video game, but it quickly turned into an environmental debacle when the balloons sank into the water instead of floating away.

Trash Talk did help clean it up, and has agreed to pay the fine.
