The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that an Oakland police officer and his supervisor have been removed from street duty over an incident during the general strike in early November.

In a video taken by citizen journalist Scott Campbell, an officer is seen firing a beanbag. Campbell was hit in the leg. Using beanbags in crowd-control situations is allowed under Oakland police policy. But, policy also says the officer can only act under the direction of a supervisor and that the victim shall be taken to the hospital. That did not happen. Internal Affairs is investigating the incident.
