Study: Preschoolers don't get enough playtime out

Researchers looked at kids, ages three to five, in child care centers. Most got about 15 minutes to play outside each day. That's because schools and parents say they're worried about playground safety and they would rather focus on classroom learning. But experts say kids should be outside up to two hours a day -- running around, riding tricycles and playing games. The study's in this week's Pediatrics Journal.
