The San Francisco Jack In the Box, where a CAL FIRE firefighter was critically injured by a hit and run driver, was granted an extended hours permit.

The Geary Street restaurant can now remain open 24 hours.

The firefighter was hit after an argument at 3:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. During the investigation that followed, it turned out the Jack In the Box didn't have a permit to be open at that hour.

The injured firefighter remains in a coma. The man accused of running him over was arrested days later.
