America's obesity rate stops soaring

For the first time in decades America's obesity rate has stopped soaring. In fact, it's leveled off. But researchers don't know why and they aren't sure if it's a permanent trend.

Still, Americans aren't getting any thinner either, we're just not getting any heavier. That's according to data gathered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

It says waistlines stopped expanding in 2003, women aren't any more obese than they were in 1999, and childhood obesity has also leveled off.

Regardless, more than one in three American adults are obese and so are one in six kids.
