BART "jazz man" arrested on murder charges

SAN FRANCISCO

Garrick Sherrod, also known as the jazz man, is often seen and heard playing the sax at San Francisco's Embarcadero Station.

He's accused of murdering his ex-wife 25 years ago, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Police say Sherrod's real name is Ronald Brewington. He was indicted on first degree murder charges in 1988, but fled before he could be arrested.

The Albuquerque police department's cold case squad tracked him down to San Francisco.
