SWAT standoff ends in South San Francisco

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.

By 6 p.m., the 3.5-hr standoff appeared to be over despite the continued presence of the SWAT team who still appeared to be searching for a suspect.

Police had not released any information by 6 p.m. Saturday, but residents in the area said it all started around 2:30 p.m. when they heard shots fired. They say they then saw two men, who they believe fired the shots, run into a third-floor apartment at 817 Baden St where a family of three resides. Minutes later, police responded to the scene near Commercial and Eucalyptus Streets and closed off the area.

A neighbor who lives below the apartment told ABC7 the family of three, including a 9-year-old girl, were seen standing unhurt outside the apartment complex after the standoff ended Saturday.
