PG&E unveils new E-truck

They have the first-ever extended-range electric pickup truck for utilities. Called an "E-Truck," and the vehicle not only allows crews to perform their normal duties, but thanks to what's called exportable power they can do more.

"So we use the onboard generator to not only power the vehicle, but also to allow us to take that energy and use it to do whatever we need to do. It could be anywhere from lighting your home in an emergency situation to actually powering the grid at some point in the future," said Dave Meisel from PG&E.

Imagine having your entire neighborhood powered by a pickup truck, but that will come later. Right now the E-trucks have the power to light up a medium house.
