Police in Pittsburg are trying to locate two suspects who beat a Brentwood man in a parking lot on Tuesday night, a police lieutenant said Thursday.

The assault was reported around 6 p.m. Tuesday in a lot located in the 3700 block of Railroad Avenue, Lt. Ron Raman said.

The suspects approached the 40-year-old victim and got into a verbal altercation with him that turned physical, Raman said.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for head injuries he suffered during the fight. The wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Police have not located the suspects, but believe the two men know the victim, Raman said.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is asked to call the Pittsburg police tip line at (925) 427-7369.
