Experimental drug achieves weight loss in mice

The drug could affect our life cycles. Studies show people working the overnight shift have lower metabolism. Night owl workers also suffer from higher rates of heart disease and diabetes.

Researchers using the new drug were able to disrupt the 24 hour day and night cycle in mice. The mice became less active but still lost weight, not because they ate less.

Still, more research is needed to see if the drug will work on humans.
