Study: Eggs are as bad for arteries as smoking

According to researchers at a university hospital in London, the problem is with the cholesterol found in egg yolks. The study says yolks accelerate the buildup of plaque on artery walls in people over 40. Accumulated plaque over a period of time can lead to heart attacks and strokes. The study involved 1,200 people enrolled in a vascular prevention clinic. The researched is published in the Journal Atherosclerosis.
