911 operator helps save driver with stuck gas pedal

Driver: "I'm scared to death."

Operator: "Alright I know you're scared, just calm down. Have you put your car in neutral?"

Driver: "I can't get it to move."

Operator: "Are you able to hit your brakes at all?"

Driver: "I'm trying everything."

The nightmare for driver Lauri Ulvestad took place on august 19 on Interstate 35 in Missouri. The video was captured by a state trooper's dashboard camera.

The 47-year old had some great driving skills. She swerved her black SUV through traffic reaching 115 mph and she didn't hit a single car. All the while she pleaded for help. While calmly the 911 operator Kelly Brieg guided Ulvestad telling her to lift up the stuck accelerator while pushing down on the brake and that worked and she got to meet her hero.

"Thank god she was there because she was literally my lifeline," Ulvestad said.

"I'm just so glad that you're sitting here with me right now," Brieg said.

Ulvelstad was driving a Kia Sorrento. The automaker says it's been unable to duplicate the issue and this appears to be an isolated incident.
