Richmond City Council may seek compensation from Chevron

RICHMOND, Calif.

The council meets on Tuesday and one member is considering a resolution urging the oil giant to come up with a community compensation package.

The fire sent more than 15,000 residents to the hospital complaining of respiratory problems.

In the days after the fire Chevron set up a hotline and claim centers where individual residents could file for monetary compensation.
