Atlantic Aviation appeals disqualification to build facility

An aircraft company bidding to build an $82 million facility at Mineta San Jose International Airport is appealing its disqualification.

Airport officials and city leaders prefer Google's own "Signature Flight Support" plan for its privately funded 29-acre complex that includes five new hangars to park corporate jets.

The new facility would be built on a parking lot on the west side of the airport. Our media partner, the San Jose Mercury News, says Atlantic Aviation is appealing its disqualification, claiming the airport would get more revenue under its proposal and therefore must be selected under established criteria.
