Mummies suffered from clogged arteries

New findings show heart disease was around long before fast food.

Whole body scans of 137 mummies revealed some had heart and vascular disease. Their diet and active lifestyle presumably would have lowered their risk.

Researchers say they believe that ancient people probably had a more benign form of heart disease than what we commonly see today.

The findings were reported at the American College of Cardiology meeting in San Francisco.
