Man fatally shot was former Oakland Tribune photographer

The victim in a deadly shooting in Oakland near Mills College has been identified as a former Oakland Tribune photographer.

The Tribune reports that 54-year-old Lionel "Ray" Fluker was not the target of the shooting and was driving home from the gym when he was shot.

A second man, who police believe was the intended victim, was critically wounded.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. Friday outside a gas station on Seminary Avenue and MacArthur Bouelvard.

No suspects are in custody and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
