Annual blitz on Oakland potholes kicks off this week

OAKLAND, Calif.

Each week, the efforts will relocate to another district in the city, starting on Claremont Avenue between Clifton and Hudson streets.

The focus will be on schools, traffic corridors, hospitals, high-traffic pedestrian areas and problem streets, according to city officials.

Last year, 2,800 potholes were filled.

The blitz will last until June 26.

Oakland residents who have a specific pothole they want repaired or who have other infrastructure issues should call the Public Works Call Center Hot Line at (510) 615-5566.

Problems also can be reported online at: www.oaklandpw.com or by emailing pwacallcenteroaklandnet.com.
