Principal apologizes after wrongly accusing student of cyber-bullying

SAN LORENZO, Calif.

The Hayward Daily Review reports Arroyo High School Principal Larry Smith made the accusation in front of the freshman class on May 3, saying the male student had circulated an inappropriate photo of a female student on social media.

When it was determined the student had done nothing wrong, the principal met with the families of both students and held another assembly to publicly apologize for his mistake.

The principal was out of the office on Friday and the district would not confirm if the principal has been disciplined.
