Love sweeps through San Francisco on 11/12/13

SAN FRANCISCO

Amkha Luu likes the sound of 11/12/13 for her wedding date.

"It just has a nice little flow and it's an easy date to remember," she said.

Hugh Luu feels like he will be set come anniversary time.

"You know, 11/12/13, I won't mess that. [Because] you can't beat 13/12/11, right?" he said.

The Luus will join 33 other couples at San Francisco City Hall who will take their vows on this date of consecutive numbers. One couple came all the way from Austin, Texas.

"Well, it is 11/12/13, so we figured it's lucky. And we love San Francisco so we came to City Hall," said Aprilis Bryson of Austin, Texas.

The director of the city clerk's office says they notice that some dates get snatched up quicker than others.

Luu says she called two months in advance and could only get the 10 a.m. appointment.

"It was actually the last spot to get the day, so we were very fortunate [because] everything else was booked," she said

This date is unique but not for the spontaneous. In San Francisco, where the wedding business is booming, the next available wedding ceremony appointment is January 2.

"Some people who decide the spur of the moment, 'wouldn't it be cool to get married today,' and they hadn't thought about it before. And they'll try to walk in and, unfortunately we're by appointment only," said Director of the County Clerk's Office Karen Hong.
