The man entered the women's restroom of the restaurant and sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl inside before he was interrupted by an adult. The suspect then fled the location.
The sandy-blond-haired suspect was captured on surveillance video entering a Denny's restaurant on the 37000 block of 47th Street at about 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 1. The man walked with a noticeable limp and was "holding his hands down in an odd fashion," according to a county sheriff's sergeant.
The suspect is believed to be a panhandler with the nickname "Shrink" who frequents a nearby Chevron gas station early mornings. He was described as an 18- to 20-year-old man, standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds.
Supervisor Mike Antonovich submitted the motion for the reward for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction on Monday.
