Numerous studies indicate most California elementary schools offer very little science and kids with limited English skills get even less. That's why the Exploratorium is working with the Sonoma Valley School District to use science as a tool for improving English.
The Exploratorium has been working with the district for six years fine tuning teacher training and materials so the program can be replicated around the country.
The program is funded by private foundations and the U.S. Department of Education.
