Two photos snapped last week by the Curiosity rover show the light and it looks as if it's beaming upward from the planet's surface.
NASA hasn't officially responded, but one scientist told ABC News that it's not an indication of life on the red planet.
He says it's likely either a flaw with the camera, or the glint from a rock reflecting the sun.
