Two hospitalized after chase ends in crash in Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KGO) -- A police pursuit ended with a crash into a building in Santa Rosa on Flower Avenue and Petaluma Hill Road.

Police initially tried to pull over the driver of the jeep on Santa Rosa Avenue, about two miles away around 12:30 a.m., but he wouldn't stop. Police say he sped off and ran several red lights before crashing into a rug store and dry cleaners. He took out a gas main and some water pipes.

Two people in the jeep were taken to the hospital. There is no word on their injuries. Police detained a third person at the scene.
